Terry's Strongman Career Hollands career as a strongman began in 2005 and success was almost immediate. He came second in England's Strongest Man in that year and went on to win the more coveted UK's Strongest Man in the same year. In 2006 he lost his UK title to the experienced and established Glenn Ross but turned his attention to "ultimate" title within the British Isles,Britain's Strongest Man. In 2006 he was placed third and this qualified him for the World's Strongest Man 2006 competition, although he did not make the final of that event. In 2007 he took the title of Britain's Strongest Man and went on to the World's to finish third, the first time a Briton has achieved a top 3 place in over 10 years. The 2008 Britain's Strongest Man saw Hollands have a poor first day, blighted at the very beginning by an injury to his left hand in the Farmer's Walk. However, on the second day he began to perform at a higher level, but he had to concede his title to Jimmy Marku, coming second overall. Hollands' motivation remains clear when he said: "At the end of the day, I want to be the World's Strongest Man and I will not stop going until I am the World's Strongest Man.". In the end, after a year dogged by injuries and personal problems, he came tenth out of ten in World's Strongest Man 2008.
The World's Strongest Man is a well recognised event in strength athletics. Organized by TWI, an IMG Media company, it is broadcast around the end of December each year. Competitors qualify based on top placings at the World's Strongest Man Super Series events or are invited based on a top placing in selected national or international competitions. Thirty contestants take part across five heats; the top two in each go through to the ten-man final. Mariusz Pudzianowski usually wins this competition hands down, nah actually smashes it. He uses cows to work his biceps. Once got Danny Mutoti in a piledriver position at school, would have killed him but couldnt be arsed. Bare hard what bruv. Currently, the event sponsor is Met-Rx, and the top prize is known as the RV Trophy. The event has a number of rival and parallel competitions with which it is often confused including the Strongman Super Series (producing the World Champion) and the IFSA World Championship (run since the IFSA parted company with WSM). However, these are separate competitions.
Britain's Strongest Man Britain's Strongest Man (or "BSM") is an annual strongman event held to determine the strongest man in Great Britain. Athletes compete from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. It also acts as a qualification system for World's Strongest Man. The events are usually very similar to the ones used in WSM. It is produced by TWI, the same producers as World's Strongest Man.
